COURSE CURRICULUM

This course is structured to provide a strong foundation in computing and artificial intelligence, gradually developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills over three years. In the first year, students are introduced to core computing concepts, including procedural and object-oriented programming, computer organisation and architecture, networking fundamentals, and essential mathematics, alongside a project that builds practical problem-solving abilities. The second year builds on this foundation by introducing artificial intelligence and computational mathematics, while also strengthening knowledge in algorithms, data structures, databases, and web integration. A team project further enhances collaboration and real-world application of technical skills. In the final year, the focus shifts to more advanced and specialised AI topics, including knowledge-based systems and data-driven artificial intelligence, allowing students to explore how intelligent systems are designed and implemented. An individual project provides the opportunity to apply accumulated knowledge to a substantial piece of work, often aligned with personal interests or career goals. Overall, the course equips students with a balanced mix of programming expertise, analytical thinking, and AI-focused skills, preparing them for careers in software development, artificial intelligence, data science, and other technology-driven fields.
