COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biology (Molecular and Cellular) BSc(Hons) program provides a comprehensive understanding of life at the molecular and cellular levels, combining theoretical study with practical laboratory experience. In the first year, students explore the foundations of molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, physiology, microbial life, and analytical science while developing essential research skills. Building on this, the second year focuses on advanced topics such as cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and further research methods, equipping students with the ability to design experiments, analyse data, and apply scientific principles to real-world problems. The third year emphasises independent research and contemporary scientific issues, including a research project, current topics in molecular life sciences, and the mechanisms and pathology of cancer and other chronic diseases. Throughout the program, students gain hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, molecular analysis, and experimental design, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. This integrated approach prepares graduates for careers in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, biomedical research, or further postgraduate study.
