COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechatronic Engineering with Foundation Year BEng(Hons) program provides a structured pathway for students to enter an accredited engineering degree, beginning with a foundation year that prepares them for university-level study. During the foundation year, students develop essential skills in communication, research, mathematics, and fundamental engineering principles, building the confidence and knowledge required for progression into the full degree. In the first year of the BEng(Hons), students expand their technical skills through courses in engineering computational skills, engineering science, electronic system fundamentals, materials and mechanics, engineering design, manufacture and test, while also developing professional skills and research awareness. The second year focuses on more specialized subjects, including analysis of materials, signal analysis and control, thermofluids, electrical energy conversion, engineering design, and manufacturing and production systems, equipping students with the analytical and practical expertise needed for complex engineering problems. The third year emphasizes advanced applications and industry readiness, covering dynamic analysis and control, electrical power and drive systems, digital signal processing applications, and project quality and production management, culminating in a final year project that integrates knowledge and skills from all previous years. Overall, the program offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary education that prepares students for careers in robotics, automation, intelligent systems, and sustainable engineering innovation.
