COURSE CURRICULUM

The program begins with a foundation year that builds essential academic and engineering knowledge, including communication and research skills, investigative studies, foundation mathematics, and core engineering principles. This stage prepares students for progression onto the degree. In the first year, students develop a strong grounding in engineering through modules such as engineering science, computational skills, and materials and mechanics. They are also introduced to electronic system fundamentals and gain practical experience in engineering design, manufacture, and testing, alongside developing professional and research awareness. In the second year, the course moves into more specialised areas, including embedded systems, signal analysis and control, communications, and further studies in electronics and electrical principles. An enterprise-focused module in electronic product design and manufacture allows students to apply their learning to real-world engineering challenges. In the final year, students concentrate on advanced topics such as digital signal processing applications, parallel computer architecture involving clusters and grids, and digital system integration. A major component is the final year project, where students independently solve a complex engineering problem, demonstrating their technical and analytical skills. Overall, the program combines theory and practical experience, preparing students for careers in electronic engineering and computer systems.
