COURSE CURRICULUM

The Musical Theatre BA(Hons) program is designed to develop skilled and versatile performers, combining practical training, creative development, and professional preparation. In the first year, students build a foundation through modules in text into performance, making performance, specialist performance, and performance skills, focusing on integrating acting, singing, and movement while exploring different performance styles. The second year expands on these skills with more advanced practice, including making performance, specialist practice, solo performance, and performance skills development, allowing students to refine their technique, develop stage presence, and apply creative approaches in both individual and collaborative settings. The third year emphasizes independent and professional practice, with modules in advanced performance projects, a final year project, performance skills, and creative futures, preparing students for careers in the performing arts. Throughout the program, students engage in rehearsal, performance, and creative projects, building a diverse portfolio that demonstrates technical proficiency, artistic versatility, and interpretive skill. The course encourages experimentation, personal artistic growth, and professional readiness, providing opportunities to perform publicly, collaborate with peers, and receive guidance from experienced tutors.
