COURSE CURRICULUM

The Multimedia Journalism BA(Hons) program is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of modern journalism, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills across multiple media platforms. In the first year, students develop foundational abilities in online content production, audio and video production, professional writing, and critical thinking, while learning about the roles, rights, and responsibilities of the media. This initial year equips students with essential technical and creative skills for effective storytelling. In the second year, the focus expands to applied and professional aspects of journalism, including podcasting, magazine production, influencer culture, promotion and public relations, reporting and writing, television news, and radio production. These modules enable students to gain practical experience and prepare for real-world media work. The third year emphasizes advanced, project-based learning, allowing students to refine their craft through writing techniques across media, video production for music, advertising, and short films, and investigative reporting. Students also engage in multi-platform newsroom projects and media industry collaborations, integrating skills across formats and contexts. Throughout the program, students build a portfolio of work, gain industry insight, and develop professional connections. By the end of the course, graduates are well-prepared for careers in journalism, broadcasting, digital media, and related fields, equipped with both creative expertise and practical industry experience.
