COURSE CURRICULUM

The Acting and Performance BA (Hons) program is structured over three years and focuses on developing practical performance skills alongside creative and academic understanding. In Year 1, students build a foundation through modules such as Studying Performance, Text into Performance, and Making Performance, where they explore key acting techniques, interpret scripts, and begin creating their own work. This stage introduces students to both theoretical and practical aspects of performance. In Year 2, the course develops these skills further with modules like Making Performance 2, Performance Across Media, and Specialist Practice, allowing students to refine their abilities and explore different forms of performance, including stage and other media formats. Students also begin to specialise and develop their individual artistic interests. In Year 3, the focus shifts towards professional preparation and advanced creative work. Modules such as Creative Futures, Advanced Performance Projects, and Practice and Research enable students to undertake major performance projects, engage in independent research, and prepare for careers in the creative industries. Throughout the program, students gain experience in collaboration, production, and performance, building confidence and versatility. Overall, the course provides a balanced mix of practical training and academic study, equipping graduates with the skills needed for careers in acting and performance.
