COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Science BSc(Hons) program provides students with a strong foundation in computer systems, programming, software development, and modern computing technologies. In Year 1, students develop core technical knowledge through modules such as Computer Network Fundamentals, Computer Organisation and Architecture, Computing Science and Mathematics, Procedural Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, and Project 1. These modules build essential problem-solving, analytical, and coding skills needed for advanced study. In Year 2, the course focuses on more specialised areas including Algorithms and Data Structures, Artificial Intelligence, Operating Systems, Relational Databases, and Team Project work, helping students gain practical experience in software development and collaborative problem-solving. Students can also tailor their learning through optional modules such as Cyber Security, Object-Oriented Systems Development, or Computational Mathematics. In the final year, students undertake an Individual Project while studying advanced topics including Distributed and Client Server Systems. Additional optional modules allow students to specialise further in areas such as Advanced Web Programming, Data-driven Artificial Intelligence, Software Architecture, Large-Scale Software Engineering, and Parallel Computer Architecture. The program combines theoretical understanding with hands-on practical learning, preparing graduates for careers in software engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analysis, systems development, and other technology-related industries. Students also gain valuable teamwork, communication, and project management skills that are highly valued by employers in the global technology sector.
