COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Physiotherapy program is structured over three years, combining academic study with extensive placement experience to develop the skills, knowledge, and professional competencies required for modern physiotherapy practice. In the first year, students undertake an initial placement titled “Everyone Counts,” introducing them to patient-centered care and professional practice in clinical settings. The second year builds on this foundation with modules that focus on professionalism, preparation for physiotherapy, and practical placements emphasizing compassion, respect, dignity, and improving patient outcomes. Students also gain experience in collaborative care through placements that highlight teamwork and patient-centered approaches. The third year provides advanced clinical and theoretical learning, with modules covering physiotherapy in primary, secondary, and tertiary care settings to ensure graduates can manage diverse patient populations across the healthcare spectrum. Additional modules in research to support physiotherapy and rehabilitation, understanding rehabilitation, advancing skills and leadership, and complex patients and healthcare policy prepare students to integrate evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and leadership into their clinical roles. By combining rigorous academic study with multiple, varied placements, the program ensures that graduates emerge as competent, reflective, and confident physiotherapists capable of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while contributing to the advancement of the physiotherapy profession and the wider healthcare system.
