COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Data Science program provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills required in the field of data science. Core modules such as Applied Data Science 1 and 2 give students hands-on experience in solving real-world data problems, while the Data Science Core Skills Bootcamp ensures that students acquire essential foundational skills at the start of the program. Modules in Data Handling and Visualisation and Data Mining and Discovery focus on practical techniques for managing, manipulating, and exploring large datasets, enabling students to extract meaningful insights effectively. Fundamentals of Data Science provides a strong grounding in the mathematical and statistical principles that underpin algorithms, machine learning, and neural networks, which are further developed in the Machine Learning and Neural Networks module. The Data Analysis with AI module equips students with the ability to apply artificial intelligence techniques to interpret and analyse complex data, supporting informed decision-making. The Data Science Professional Team Project allows students to collaborate in teams to tackle industry-relevant problems, fostering teamwork, project management, and communication skills.
