COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Bioinformatics program offers an advanced interdisciplinary curriculum that combines computational and biological sciences to equip students with the skills needed to tackle complex challenges in modern research and industry. Core compulsory modules such as Databases and Tools, Machine Learning and Statistics, Analysis and Generation of Genome Sequences, Research Methods, Advanced Research Introduction, Advanced Research Materials & Methods, and the Advanced Research Project provide a strong foundation in computational analysis, statistical methods, genomic data interpretation, and research methodology. These modules allow students to develop practical expertise in handling and analysing large-scale biological datasets, as well as designing and executing independent research projects. Optional modules, including Core Computer Science, Core Bioscience, Bioinformatics of Plant Disease, and Clinical Bioinformatics, give students the flexibility to tailor their learning according to personal interests or career aspirations, whether in computational modelling, molecular biology, agricultural bioinformatics, or clinical applications. The program emphasizes hands-on experience through practical classes, workshops, and interdisciplinary collaboration, preparing students to work effectively in teams of biologists, medical professionals, and computer scientists.
