COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Architecture and Urbanism program offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates theory, design, research, and professional practice. In the first year, students undertake the Urban and Rural Theory Lab, a compulsory 15-credit module that explores the connections between urban and rural landscapes, focusing on sustainability, community development, and spatial theory. The second year builds on this foundation through a series of advanced modules that deepen students’ architectural and urban design expertise. Core modules such as Architecture and Urbanism Studio 1 and Architecture Studio 2 (each 30 credits) allow students to engage with complex design challenges and develop innovative architectural solutions. Supporting modules, including Circular Construction Lab and Sustainable Urban Futures, encourage environmentally responsible and resource-efficient design thinking. The program also emphasizes academic and professional development through Emerging Research in Architecture, the Architecture Research Dissertation, and the Architecture Thesis, enabling students to explore original ideas and contribute to contemporary debates. Additionally, the Professional Practice and Management module provides essential knowledge of the business, legal, and ethical aspects of architecture.
