COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at the University of Hertfordshire is structured to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical teaching experience. The program includes core modules such as Linguistic Analysis for Language Teaching, Teaching English as an International Language, and Course and Syllabus Design in English Language Teaching, which build a strong foundation in language theory and pedagogy. Practical teaching skills are developed through The Practice of English Language Teaching, offered in two stages, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in planning, delivering, and assessing lessons. Methods and Materials in English Language Teaching and Approaches to Teaching and Learning Languages further support the integration of theory and practice, equipping students to apply effective teaching strategies across diverse educational contexts.
