COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Graphic Design and Branding program combines creativity, research, and professional development to prepare students for leadership roles in the design industry. The course begins with Design Studio Practice 1 (15 credits), where students explore design thinking, visual communication, and conceptual development through practical studio projects. Research Methods (15 credits) introduces analytical and investigative skills, enabling students to explore design theories and cultural contexts that inform their creative practice. The Advanced Design Skills Lab (30 credits) focuses on refining technical abilities and experimenting with emerging tools and processes used in contemporary design and branding. In Design Studio Practice 2 (45 credits), students undertake complex design briefs that integrate strategy, identity, and communication across different media platforms. Professional Design Practice (15 credits) enhances understanding of real-world design operations, covering project management, client collaboration, and professional presentation techniques. The program culminates with the Major Study: Graphic Design and Branding (60 credits), a self-directed project that allows students to create an original and innovative body of work reflecting their personal design identity and career aspirations. Collectively, these modules foster creativity, strategic thinking, and professionalism, equipping graduates with the confidence and expertise to excel in graphic design, branding, and related creative industries.
