COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Editing and Post-Production program offers a comprehensive and structured approach to developing advanced skills in film editing and post-production. In the first module, Investigative Minds: Culture, Industry, Research, students gain a critical understanding of the film and media industry while exploring research methodologies and cultural contexts that inform creative practice. This foundation supports their ability to analyse and respond to contemporary trends, preparing them to make informed creative and technical decisions. The Finding the Story: Major Project Development and Planning module focuses on the development of original projects, guiding students through planning, narrative structuring, and conceptualisation to ensure their creative ideas are feasible and impactful. Students then advance to Film Editing and Post Production Techniques, a core module that equips them with hands-on experience in key technical skills, including picture editing, colour grading, workflow management, and digital post-production processes, fostering professional-level competence. The program culminates in the Major Project in Film Editing and Post Production, where students independently produce a substantial body of work that demonstrates both their creative vision and technical expertise. Throughout the course, collaboration with peers, critical feedback, and industry-informed guidance ensure students graduate with a portfolio and skillset that prepare them for professional careers in film, television, and digital media post-production.
