COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Motorsport Technology degree provides a comprehensive education in automotive and motorsport engineering, combining theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience. In the first year, students build a solid foundation through modules covering motorsport and automotive technology, engineering projects, microcontrollers and design, project management, materials, manufacturing, and dynamic and static systems. This initial year establishes essential technical skills and professional competencies that underpin future learning. In the second year, the course advances into specialised topics such as automotive electrical systems, computer-aided engineering, applied thermodynamics, production and distribution systems, computational fluid dynamics, motorsport design, vehicle aerodynamics, and automotive electronics practice. These modules deepen technical expertise while fostering problem-solving and analytical skills. The third year focuses on integrating knowledge through advanced modules, including motorsport technology, vehicle design, racing car body engineering, high-performance powertrain, automotive chassis technology, and instrumentation and control systems. Students also complete an individual BSc project, applying their learning to a substantial engineering challenge, and have the option of industrial placements or study abroad, providing valuable industry exposure. Across the program, students gain practical experience, professional skills, and industry insights, preparing them for careers in motorsport, automotive engineering, vehicle design, and related sectors, with a strong emphasis on innovation, performance, and real-world application.
