COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biological Science with Pharmacology degree provides a comprehensive understanding of the molecular, cellular, and physiological processes that underpin life, with a particular focus on human health and disease. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in molecular biology, genetics, core biochemistry, cell and microbiology, human physiology with pharmacology, and practical laboratory skills, alongside optional modules in chemistry, molecular structure, and bioinformatics. In the second year, the program expands to cover advanced topics such as principles of immunology, cell and molecular biology, genes and genomes, bioscience research methods, and optional modules in disease biology, microbiology, pharmacology, cytology, blood sciences, and biochemistry, with opportunities for work experience to gain practical insights into professional practice. The third year emphasizes independent research and advanced applications, including projects, cellular technologies, therapeutic pharmacology, clinical immunology, neurobiology, clinical biochemistry, translation of science into medicine, and advanced therapies, preparing students for careers in biomedical research, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and biotechnology. Throughout the program, students develop critical scientific skills such as data analysis, experimental design, problem-solving, and scientific communication. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory experience and optional placement opportunities, the degree equips graduates with the expertise and transferable skills necessary to pursue careers in research, clinical sciences, pharmaceuticals, and other interdisciplinary scientific fields.
