COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) International Business with Modern Languages degree is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in global business while developing cross-cultural and language skills. In the first year, students focus on core modules in global business ecosystems, digital marketing, and intercultural leadership, with enrichment activities and optional language study to enhance international awareness and cultural competence. The second year offers a distinctive study abroad experience, where students spend one or two semesters at partner universities in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, or Australia. This immersive experience replaces campus-based study and allows students to gain first-hand exposure to international business education and professional practices. Students on the Modern Languages pathway continue their chosen language at the partner institution, ensuring they meet the requirements for the degree suffix. In the third year, students return to campus and have the flexibility to tailor their learning with optional modules in areas such as global finance, cross-cultural marketing, and ethical leadership, enabling them to specialise according to their career goals. The year also includes the International Challenge Project, a consultancy-style, real-world assignment that allows students to apply their knowledge, and the finalisation of the Graduate Success Portfolio, documenting achievements and practical experience. Graduates leave equipped with business acumen, international insight, and language proficiency to succeed in global careers.
