COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA Interior Architecture and Design course is structured to progressively develop students’ creative, technical, and professional skills over three years. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through core modules in design skills, contextualising practice, technology, and design studio work, providing the essential knowledge and abilities needed for further study. The second year expands on this foundation, combining advanced design studio and skills modules with contextual and technological studies, allowing students to explore more complex design challenges and develop a deeper understanding of professional practice. Opportunities for practical experience are embedded through professional work experience and optional year abroad programs, giving students real-world exposure and insight into the industry. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through advanced design studio projects, design skills, and contextualising practice modules, applying their knowledge to comprehensive, independent projects that reflect their personal design vision. Optional sandwich or study abroad opportunities further enhance professional and international experience, preparing students to enter the field confidently. Throughout the program, there is a consistent focus on creative problem-solving, practical application, and professional development, ensuring that graduates are equipped with the technical expertise, critical understanding, and real-world experience needed to make a positive impact in interior architecture and design.
