COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Event Management and Tourism degree is structured over three years to provide students with a strong foundation in business while developing specialist knowledge in events and tourism management. In the first year, students focus on core skills and professional development through modules such as Business Decisions in Practice, Skills for Success in Events and Tourism, and Developing Your Future Career in Events and Tourism. Entrepreneurial Leadership for Social Impact and Supporting Personal and Business Professional Practice (SPP) support personal growth and professional awareness. In the second year, students build practical and applied expertise with modules including Contemporary Themes in Tourism and Events, Responsible Event and Tourism Planning, and the Live Business Challenge, alongside the Sustainability Impact Project and Developing Personal and Business Professional Practice (DPP) to enhance real-world readiness. The final year emphasizes strategic application and industry engagement through the Strategic Business Solutions Applied Consultancy Project and the Live Event Project, where students gain hands-on experience managing events and creating memorable experiences. Innovation in the Experience Economy develops creative thinking and problem-solving skills, while Graduate Career Readiness and Evaluating Personal and Business Professional Practice (EPP) ensure students are prepared for professional life. Graduates leave the program with a blend of business knowledge, event and tourism expertise, and practical experience, ready to pursue careers in international events, destination marketing, or sustainable tourism initiatives.
