COURSE CURRICULUM

The Comics and Concept Art program offers a structured three-year journey designed to develop both creative and professional skills for students passionate about visual storytelling. In the first year, you build foundational expertise through modules such as Introduction to CG, Applying CG, Creativity, Concept and Story, and Animated Thinking, which focus on core artistic techniques, conceptual development, and narrative construction. The second year deepens these skills, with compulsory modules including Progressing Character and Concept Art, Creative Project, Comics and Professional Practices, and Moving Visions, allowing you to refine your style, experiment with different formats, and apply creative thinking to practical projects. Optional opportunities to study abroad provide an international perspective on creative practices. In the final year, you consolidate your learning through Pre-Production for Comics and Concept Art, Professional Practices and Degree Project, and Concepts in Motion: Articulated Research and Writing, which focus on advanced production skills, research-informed practice, and professional readiness. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed not only on artistic development but also on industry-relevant skills such as project management, self-promotion, and collaborative working. Graduates leave with a strong professional portfolio, creative confidence, and the versatility to pursue careers in comics, concept art, illustration, animation, or to launch independent projects within the creative industries.
