COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Accounting program is structured to provide a strong foundation in core accounting principles while progressively developing advanced technical and professional expertise. In the first year, students focus on essential skills such as Accounting Principles, Analytical Techniques, Information Technology for Accountants, Business Operations and Leadership, and professional development modules that prepare them for the demands of the field. The second year builds on this foundation with compulsory modules in Financial Management, Professional Development, Business Analytics, Financial Reporting, Management Accounting, and the Business Life Cycle, while also offering the option of Professionalism in Accounting for direct entry students. The final year allows students to specialise further and engage with contemporary issues. Compulsory modules include Governance and Auditing, Advanced Management Accounting, Strategic Management Accounting, and Current Issues in Accounting and Finance, ensuring students gain the depth of knowledge required for professional roles. Alongside these, a wide range of optional modules such as Islamic Banking and Finance, Taxation, Contemporary Issues in Ethics, Advisory Services, Data Visualisation for Business Decisions, Financial Crime, and Advanced Financial Reporting enable students to tailor their learning to specific interests. The program culminates with opportunities for dissertation or research projects, fostering independent inquiry and career readiness.
