COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting and Finance program is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation in accounting principles, finance, and business management, while progressively developing advanced skills to prepare students for professional careers. In the first year, students focus on core areas such as accounting principles, analytical techniques, information technology for accountants, business operations and leadership, essential skills for accountants, and professional practice, alongside activities that help build success in accounting and finance. In the second year, the curriculum builds on this foundation with modules in corporate finance, financial reporting, management accounting, business life cycle, professional development, and professionalism in accounting for direct entry students, combining technical expertise with practical and professional skills. The final year offers flexibility and specialisation, including options such as advanced financial decisions, strategic financial decision making, advanced management accounting, and current issues in accounting and finance, while students may also choose from a range of optional modules covering taxation, corporate financial strategy, money and banking, advisory services, behavioural finance, advanced financial reporting, governance and auditing, and dissertation projects in accounting or finance. Opportunities for work placements and international study further enhance employability and practical experience. Throughout the program, students develop analytical, technical, and professional skills, preparing them for diverse roles in accounting, finance, corporate strategy, and advisory services in both domestic and international contexts.
