COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Financial Technology (FinTech) curriculum combines finance, technology, business strategy, artificial intelligence, and regulatory knowledge to prepare students for careers in the rapidly evolving financial services industry. Big Data in Finance develops the skills required to collect, manage, analyse, and interpret large financial datasets, enabling students to support investment decisions, risk analysis, fraud detection, and business intelligence through data-driven approaches. Block Chain and Applications explores distributed ledger technology, cryptocurrencies, smart contracts, decentralised finance, and blockchain implementation across banking, supply chain, and financial services. Financial Markets and Regulations provides a comprehensive understanding of global financial markets, banking systems, investment products, regulatory frameworks, compliance requirements, and the legal environment governing financial institutions. Financial Engineering (Derivatives) focuses on derivative instruments, financial modelling, risk management techniques, pricing methods, and quantitative approaches used in investment and capital markets. Artificial Intelligence examines AI technologies and machine learning applications within financial services, including predictive analytics, automated trading, customer service automation, fraud prevention, and intelligent financial decision-making. Business Finance and Decision Making develops knowledge of corporate finance, financial planning, investment evaluation, budgeting, and strategic decision-making, helping students understand how financial data supports business growth and organisational performance. Cyber Law introduces the legal and regulatory issues surrounding digital finance, cybersecurity, data protection, privacy, intellectual property, cybercrime, and compliance with international legal standards affecting financial technology organisations. The programme concludes with the Business Development Project, where students apply the technical, financial, analytical, and research skills gained throughout the course to solve a real-world FinTech or business challenge through an independent project.
