COURSE CURRICULUM

This LLB Law degree is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the principles, practices and skills required to pursue a career in the legal profession. The course focuses on developing a detailed understanding of the legal system of England and Wales while also introducing students to international legal perspectives. In the first year, students study essential areas of law including Contract Law, Tort Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, and Foundations for Law and Employability. These modules establish core legal knowledge while developing important professional skills such as legal research, communication, critical thinking and problem-solving. In the second year, students expand their understanding through advanced areas including Criminal Law, EU Constitutional Principles, Lawyers’ Skills and Land Law. Students can also tailor their studies by selecting optional modules such as Family Law, Commercial Law, International and European Trade Law, or Sports Governance, Ethics and Law, allowing them to explore areas aligned with their career interests. In the final year, students study Equity and Trusts as a compulsory subject while choosing specialist options such as Company Law, Employment Law, Human Rights, Medical Law, Public International Law, International Criminal Law, Intellectual Property Law, Clinical Legal Education or a Legal Research Dissertation. Throughout the programme, students develop practical legal abilities through interactive teaching sessions, case analysis, legal problem-solving activities and research projects. The course prepares graduates for careers in solicitors’ firms, barristers’ chambers, government organisations, corporate legal departments, compliance roles and other professional fields requiring strong analytical and communication skills. With opportunities to specialise in areas such as business law, human rights, intellectual property, family law and international law, the programme supports students in building a broad and adaptable legal profile. By combining academic knowledge with professional skills, this degree helps students understand complex legal issues, evaluate evidence, construct legal arguments and apply legal principles effectively in real-world situations.
