COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Science degree is a three-year undergraduate programme designed to develop advanced technical knowledge, practical computing skills, and professional abilities required for careers in the modern technology industry. The course covers key areas of computer science including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics, software engineering, databases, Internet of Things (IoT), and secure system development. Students gain practical experience working on client-based software projects using Agile Scrum methodologies, developing applications through iterative processes, managing project requirements, applying testing approaches, and collaborating effectively in professional teams. The final year focuses on advanced research, innovation, and specialist areas through modules such as Dissertation, Advanced Database Management, and Innovation for Purpose: AI for People and Planet. Optional modules allow students to specialise in areas including advanced coding, big data analytics, computer vision, and secure cloud computing. The dissertation enables students to complete an independent research project, applying their technical knowledge to solve complex computing or cybersecurity challenges while considering ethical and social impacts. Graduates can pursue careers as software developers, AI engineers, data analysts, cloud specialists, cybersecurity professionals, database administrators, machine learning engineers, systems architects, and technology consultants.
