COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Business programme provides students with a comprehensive understanding of global business operations, international markets, and cross-cultural management while preparing them for careers within multinational organisations and international enterprises. In the first stage of study, students complete core modules including The Global Business Environment, Academic, Personal and Professional Development, Enterprise and Innovation, Managing Finance, Leadership and Management in an Organisational Context, Live Management Enquiry Project, Business and the Legal System, and Marketing Principles. These modules introduce students to organisations as open systems operating within complex stakeholder environments while developing knowledge of finance, entrepreneurship, leadership, marketing, and legal frameworks that influence business activities. Students also strengthen their communication, teamwork, and professional skills through projects, presentations, and practical business investigations. In the second stage, students undertake modules including Accounting for Finance and Decision Makers, Creating and Delivering Operational Plans, Applied Management Skills, and Contemporary Issues in International Business alongside optional modules such as Managing International Business, Managing Projects to Achieve Results, International Experience, International Study Abroad, and International Marketing. These modules develop students' understanding of business performance measurement, operational planning, international trade, and management decision making while providing opportunities to gain practical international experience and explore global markets and business environments. In the final stage, students study advanced modules including Managing Operations Globally, Sustainability and Globally Responsible Leadership, The Context of International Business, Strategic Business and Management, Leadership and Management in Global Contexts, Capstone Business Project, and Managing Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion. Students examine international outsourcing, logistics network planning, global operations management, sustainability, and leadership within multicultural organisations while developing the strategic thinking and analytical skills required to manage businesses across international boundaries. Through applied projects and independent research, graduates gain expertise in international business strategy, cross-cultural communication, and global management practices. Overall, the programme prepares students for careers in international business, global marketing, consultancy, supply chain management, operations management, and leadership roles within multinational organisations and international markets.
