COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business and Management (Law) programme combines business management education with specialist legal knowledge to prepare students for careers that require both commercial awareness and an understanding of legal frameworks affecting organisations. In the first stage of study, students complete core modules including The Global Business Environment, Academic, Personal and Professional Development, Enterprise and Innovation, Managing Finance, Leadership and Management in an Organisational Context, Live Management Enquiry Project, Business and the Legal System, and Marketing Principles. These modules introduce students to the operation of organisations within complex stakeholder environments while developing knowledge of finance, leadership, entrepreneurship, marketing, and business law. Students strengthen communication, teamwork, and professional skills through presentations, projects, and practical business activities. In the second stage, students undertake modules including Accounting for Finance and Decision Makers, E-Business Concepts and Practice, Employability and Entrepreneurship, Creating and Delivering Operational Plans, Managing Projects to Achieve Results, Applied Management Skills, Commercial Law, and Digital Marketing Fundamentals. These modules develop financial literacy and management decision-making skills while introducing specialist legal topics such as commercial transactions, business regulations, and the legal principles governing trade and commerce. Students learn how to measure business performance, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and apply legal principles within commercial settings. In the final stage of the programme, students study Sustainability and Globally Responsible Leadership, Strategic Management of People and Change, Leadership and Management in Global Contexts, Capstone Business Project, Managing Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion, Company Law, and Employment Law. These modules focus on corporate governance, directors' and shareholders' rights, workplace legislation, equality and diversity, and the legal responsibilities of organisations operating in global markets. Students critically examine sustainability, ethical leadership, and stakeholder responsibilities while developing strategic management capabilities. Through applied projects and independent study, graduates gain the analytical, legal, and managerial skills required to identify legal risks and support organisational decision making. Overall, the programme prepares students for careers in business management, compliance, human resources, legal support services, consultancy, and corporate administration while providing a strong foundation for further professional or legal qualifications.
