COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Supply Chain Management is a one-year program designed to equip students with the theoretical understanding and practical tools needed to address real-world supply chain and logistics challenges. The course begins in the first semester with foundational knowledge in supply chain operations, procurement, logistics management, and marketing. Students explore current industry problems and develop critical thinking through hands-on analysis. In the second semester, the focus shifts to supply chain design, analytics, and simulations, where students learn to optimise networks and analyse risk using advanced tools and software. This phase also deepens expertise in sourcing strategies and complex case analysis, while the Business Research Methods module prepares students for independent research by introducing them to both qualitative and quantitative methods. In the final semester, students complete a dissertation on a topic of their choice, often linked to real-world problems from industry partners. This significant piece of research integrates theoretical concepts and practical analysis, and past projects have involved case studies with actual companies. Core modules include Marketing Theory and Practice, Supply Chain Analytics and Simulations, Principles of Supply Chain Operations and Logistics Management, and Purchasing and Supply Management. These modules provide insight into global supply chain strategies, intermodal transport, warehousing, distribution networks, and procurement decision-making. The course also includes a strong focus on transferable skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and research planning, which are further enhanced during the dissertation phase. Overall, the program offers a comprehensive view of modern supply chains, preparing graduates for careers in logistics, procurement, operations management, and beyond, across a wide range of industries.
