COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Investment and Finance is a comprehensive one-year course designed to develop both foundational and advanced knowledge in key financial and investment concepts. In the first semester, students gain a broad understanding of business essentials through modules like Managing People and Organisations, Strategic Marketing Management, and Accounting and Financial Management. These establish a solid foundation in organisational behaviour, strategic planning, and financial literacy. In the second semester, the course shifts focus to specialised financial topics such as Corporate Financial Management and International Corporate Governance, examining valuation, capital structure, mergers, and the roles of investors and regulators globally. Students can also tailor their experience by selecting an optional module. Throughout the course, there's a strong emphasis on applying knowledge to real-world corporate scenarios, with coursework designed to enhance critical thinking and strategic analysis. In contrast to typical Master’s programs, this MSc includes a third semester of taught modules, allowing students to continue expanding their expertise. Modules like Advanced Investment and Risk Management and Integrated Business Decisions deepen students’ understanding of risk, portfolio management, and corporate strategy through simulations and practical case studies. The program also focuses on developing modern managerial competencies needed in the global marketplace, preparing students for leadership roles. International perspectives are embedded throughout, ensuring students are equipped to operate in global financial environments. By the end of the course, students will be adept in corporate governance, financial policy analysis, investment strategies, and risk management, ready to succeed in roles across finance, investment banking, corporate finance, and consultancy.
