COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in International Business Economics is a one-year course designed to equip students with advanced knowledge in economics, finance, and econometrics. The program begins with a pre-sessional course in September and includes three taught modules each semester, followed by a dissertation during the summer. In the autumn semester, students receive foundational training in core areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. These modules provide the essential tools and frameworks needed to understand economic behavior, market dynamics, and statistical analysis. In the spring semester, students have the opportunity to select specialist modules, including topics like Multinational Firms, International Finance, and Financial Econometrics, which allow them to delve deeper into specific areas of interest and gain expertise in financial markets, exchange rates, and econometric modeling.Alongside the taught modules, students begin preparing for their dissertation in the spring with a series of training workshops covering research methodologies, data analysis, and literature review techniques. These skills are further honed with additional workshops in the summer, where students apply econometric techniques using software like STATA. The dissertation module is a key component of the program, providing students with the opportunity to research a topic of their choice, either independently or in collaboration with an external organization. The dissertation process is guided by a supervisor, with students required to submit a research proposal and engage in multiple meetings to refine their work. By the end of the course, students will have developed strong analytical and research skills, positioning them for careers in international economics, finance, or consultancy. The program ensures graduates are well-prepared to address complex economic issues in a global business environment.
