COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Human Resource Management is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with a thorough understanding of both traditional and modern HR practices while embedding strong business fundamentals. The course begins with Welcome Week, offering students an introduction to key business and HR concepts, and an opportunity to meet peers and academic staff. The first semester focuses on building a strong foundation in HR and core business functions. Students explore the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to retirement, and study areas such as performance management, career development, diversity, and emerging HR topics like workplace psychology and employee loyalty. The curriculum also covers employment law, organisational culture, motivation, and training systems, while developing key interpersonal and communication skills. In the second semester, students begin to tailor their learning through optional modules, allowing for specialization in areas of interest. The third semester offers taught modules instead of independent study, focusing on consolidating knowledge and sharpening critical thinking. A key component of this term is personal development, where students build their personal brand, identify their ten key strengths, and explore principles of success through real-world case studies. Core modules include Managing People and Organisations, which examines organisational behaviour and HRM principles, Strategic Marketing Management, which addresses global marketing strategies, and Business Leadership and Change Management, which explores how to lead transformation effectively. Integrated Business Decisions challenges students to apply their knowledge through strategic simulations, while Accounting and Financial Management ensures they understand financial literacy and the impact of financial decisions. The program adopts both domestic and international perspectives throughout, ensuring students graduate with globally relevant skills and insights.
