COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s in Educational Leadership and Management is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the complexities involved in leading and managing educational organizations. The course focuses on developing critical judgment and analytical skills necessary for educational improvement. Core modules cover topics such as educational policy, leadership theories, and organizational improvement. In the autumn, the course begins with modules addressing recent developments in educational leadership and the complexities of policy implementation. In the spring, the focus shifts to educational improvement initiatives that cater to the diverse needs of students in various educational contexts, examining strategies for improving teaching and learning.Students will also have the opportunity to explore different approaches to research in education, with modules in critical reading and educational research methods. These modules help students develop advanced research skills, which they can apply when working on their dissertation. The dissertation is a significant part of the program, providing students with the chance to design and carry out an independent research project under the guidance of an individual supervisor. Students can also choose optional modules from other programs in the School of Education to further tailor their studies to personal or professional interests.Throughout the course, students are encouraged to reflect on their leadership experiences and career aspirations while gaining expertise in educational management. The course is designed to equip students with the skills needed to critically evaluate and apply research in educational policy, leadership, and management, preparing them for leadership roles in various educational settings.
