COURSE CURRICULUM

The structure of the program is designed to gradually build a deep understanding of international accounting, finance, and research methods. In the first semester, students are introduced to essential theories and practices in international accounting, investments, corporate finance, and governance. These foundational topics provide a solid base for more specialized learning. During the second semester, students can tailor their studies by choosing optional modules that align with their personal interests, thereby broadening and deepening their academic experience. Throughout the first and second semesters, students also engage with business research methods. They learn how to conduct research using both qualitative and quantitative techniques, understand various data sources, and develop skills in choosing and combining methods effectively to conduct meaningful research. In the final semester, students complete a dissertation under the supervision of a faculty member. This independent project allows them to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired, explore a topic they are passionate about, and contribute to the field of accounting and finance. It also serves as excellent preparation for doctoral study or future employment. Key compulsory modules include International Accounting, which focuses on global financial reporting and its implications; Financial Management, which covers corporate investment, financing, and mergers; and Responsible Business, which addresses corporate governance issues across various contexts. Business Research Methods is a core module that equips students with the skills to design and execute research projects, providing vital support for their dissertations. Finally, the Postgraduate Dissertation module, worth 60 credits, is the capstone of the program, enabling students to demonstrate their ability to integrate theory and practice in a substantial academic project. Altogether, the program ensures a comprehensive, flexible, and research-driven approach to studying accounting and finance at an advanced level.
