COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master's program in Education is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of teaching, learning, and assessment. In the Autumn Semester, students explore a range of theories and practices about education from diverse global contexts. This includes engaging with progressive and alternative pedagogical approaches while developing critical research skills. These skills are then applied to a research project that students design themselves. The Spring Semester focuses on applying these skills in practice, allowing students to further develop their research projects with guidance from a faculty member. Additionally, students examine theories and practices related to assessment in education, deepening their understanding of how assessment is integrated into curricula and pedagogy. Key compulsory modules include *Assessment: Principles, Issues and Practice*, which covers the history, design, and challenges of assessment; *Critical Reading*, where students develop their ability to analyze academic texts critically; and *Educational Research Methods*, which introduces students to key research methodologies and prepares them for conducting their own inquiries. The program culminates in the *Dissertation* module, where students work closely with a supervisor to design, research, and write an inquiry-based project tailored to their individual interests or professional needs. Through these modules, students gain essential theoretical knowledge and practical research skills, preparing them for careers in education or further academic pursuits.
