COURSE CURRICULUM

This LLM course offers students the flexibility to tailor their studies to their specific interests, with a wide range of optional modules available from the Law School. Students are encouraged to select modules that align with their career goals or academic interests, such as international commercial law, international arbitration, intellectual property, internet law, and WTO law. In addition, students can personalize their course further by choosing modules from other postgraduate courses at UEA, including International Relations, Business, and Economics, with approval from the Course Director. The program begins with the compulsory Postgraduate Legal Skills module, which helps students develop essential legal research and study skills, including understanding sources of law, citation practices, and effective writing and presentation. The only other compulsory element of the course is the dissertation, where students are required to conduct independent research on a topic of their choice, applying the legal principles learned during their studies. This allows students to demonstrate their ability to engage deeply with a specific area of law. Overall, the course provides a comprehensive and flexible structure, enabling students to explore a variety of legal fields while developing the skills necessary for advanced legal practice.
