COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Economics and Finance with International Year One is a comprehensive program designed to equip international students with a solid foundation in economic analysis, corporate finance, and financial markets. The course begins with a preparatory year at INTO UEA, where students enhance their English language skills and develop academic and research abilities necessary for undergraduate study. Following this year, you will transition to the School of Economics (ECO) for in-depth training in economics, with a specific focus on finance. Core modules will include microeconomics, macroeconomics, economic modeling, and statistics, complemented by specialized topics like corporate finance, financial markets, and behavioral finance. Students have the opportunity to choose additional modules in areas like derivatives, financial risk management, and alternative investments, or deepen their quantitative skills with data analysis and programming.The curriculum is designed with employability in mind, incorporating real-world applications and providing numerous opportunities for students to engage with the industry. Throughout the program, guest lectures, networking events, and internships help students connect with potential employers. The School of Economics also offers various workshops, job coaching, and career development resources to further enhance employability. The student-led Economics Society offers networking and social opportunities, and platforms like the Norwich Economic Publications and the ECO Blog allow students to engage with the subject beyond the classroom. This program provides a strong pathway to either enter the workforce directly or pursue postgraduate study, preparing graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the global financial landscape.
