COURSE CURRICULUM

The Physical Education, Sport, and Health (PESH) program offers a dynamic and flexible pathway for students who are interested in exploring various aspects of physical activity and sport. In Year 1, students engage in core modules that lay the foundation for understanding human movement, fitness, training principles, and the psychology of sport and exercise. These modules also help students develop essential academic skills, such as critical thinking and research techniques, while beginning to form their professional identity in the field.As students progress into Year 2, they have the opportunity to tailor their studies to match their future career goals. Through a combination of compulsory and elective modules, they can delve deeper into specific areas like psychology, policy, and scientific aspects of physical activity. Hands-on experience is a key component of Year 2, with an extended work placement providing practical exposure to the field. Additionally, students start developing their research skills, laying the groundwork for their Year 3 dissertation.Year 3 presents an exciting opportunity for students to broaden their horizons by studying abroad at an approved partner university. This experience helps them gain international perspectives and deepen their academic knowledge in specialized areas.In Year 4, students finalize their academic journey with an independent research dissertation. They also choose from a variety of upper-level modules, covering topics such as alternative sports, health promotion, and performance analysis. By the end of the program, students will have developed a comprehensive skill set—professional, academic, and personal—that prepares them for a successful career in physical education, sport, and health-related fields.
