The first year of the Business and Marketing degree at Norwich Business School provides a comprehensive foundation in core business principles. All first-year students follow a common curriculum, ensuring that they gain a broad understanding of business concepts before specializing in specific areas in later years. This structure allows students to confirm that they are on the right academic path while also giving them the flexibility to explore different disciplines within business.In this year, students are introduced to the essential aspects of modern business, including marketing, organizational management, and the broader economic environment. They explore modules like Principles of Marketing, which gives foundational knowledge in marketing theory and practice, and Management and Organisations, which examines the social dynamics and leadership within businesses. The module The Economic and Business Environment provides students with insights into the economic principles that shape business decisions at both national and international levels. Students also dive into the digital business landscape through the Introduction to Digital Business module, focusing on how technology impacts business operations.The year culminates in the Applied Business Project, where students apply their newly acquired knowledge to solve real-world business problems.
