BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a Year Abroad – University of East AngliaThis four-year degree provided a strong foundation in electrical and electronic engineering, supported by core studies in mechanical systems, materials science, and energy technologies.In the first year, I studied the fundamentals of engineering design, mathematics, and analysis across multiple disciplines. Practical lab sessions and design projects helped me develop problem-solving skills and apply theory to real-world scenarios.The second year focused on electronics, power systems, and programming. I explored analogue and digital circuit design, electrical machines, and control concepts, while also advancing my mathematical modelling and Python programming skills. A year-long group design project allowed me to apply technical knowledge in a collaborative setting.In the third year, I studied abroad at an international institution, where I selected engineering and complementary modules aligned with my interests. This experience enhanced my adaptability, broadened my global perspective, and deepened my understanding of engineering in an international context.In the final year, I specialised in power systems engineering and control systems. I worked on complex topics such as energy storage, motor drives, and programmable logic controllers. My major independent project allowed me to focus on a specific area of interest, applying research, design, and analysis skills to solve a contemporary engineering challenge.
