COURSE CURRICULUM

In Year 1 of the Physical Education, Sport, and Health (PESH) program, students engage with foundational modules to explore key aspects of physical activity, health, and sport. The curriculum covers fitness parameters, principles of training, exercise psychology, motor skill development, and the physiological basis of human movement. Students also work on developing a professional identity, which helps them transition into higher education. Core modules, such as "Health, Fitness, and Training" and "Sport and Exercise Psychology," provide insights into improving athletic performance, understanding psychological factors influencing sport participation, and developing motor skills. In Year 2, students build on this knowledge with a mix of core and optional modules. They delve into research methods and gain hands-on experience through a work placement in the sector. Modules like "Research and Experience in Physical Education, Sport, and Health" prepare students for the Year 3 dissertation by teaching research design and data collection. In the final year, students focus on independent research, writing a dissertation on a topic of interest. Additionally, they explore advanced topics like health promotion and physical activity interventions. By the end of Year 3, students are equipped with the necessary professional, personal, and research skills to pursue careers in physical education, sport development, and health promotion.
