COURSE CURRICULUM
In my first year of engineering studies, I was introduced to the fundamental principles across multiple disciplines including electrical and electronic engineering, energy systems, materials science, and mechanical engineering. This foundational year allowed me to develop essential problem-solving and analytical skills through hands-on design and analysis projects. I also gained early exposure to programming and electronic circuit design, which gave me the confidence to tackle practical engineering challenges. The mathematical component of the course strengthened my understanding of key concepts, particularly in the context of applying them to real-world engineering problems.In my second year, I began to specialise more in electrical and electronic engineering. I studied subjects such as analogue and digital electronics, electrical machines, and power electronics, where I learned to design and test circuits, use simulation tools, and build printed circuit boards. I also explored the generation, transmission, and storage of electrical power. The module in mathematical methods further developed my skills in differential equations, Fourier analysis, and numerical techniques, all essential tools for solving engineering problems. I also undertook a group design project which involved developing solutions to real-world engineering issues, integrating both technical and creative thinking.In my final year, I focused on control systems, power systems engineering, and an individual major project. This year allowed me to apply everything I had learned in a self-directed project, which involved research, experimentation, and critical analysis. I studied automatic control systems in depth, learning about feedback systems, system stability, and digital control using MATLAB and programmable logic controllers. I also examined energy storage systems and three-phase power systems. These studies not only strengthened my technical expertise but also prepared me for the professional engineering environment through exposure to industrial applications and case studies.
