COURSE CURRICULUM

In Year 1, students will gain a foundational understanding of microeconomics and macroeconomics, focusing on how individuals and firms make decisions, as well as the impact of government policies on the economy. Modules like "Introductory Mathematics for Economists" and "Statistics and Data Analytics for Economists" build the mathematical and statistical skills needed for economic analysis. Additionally, the "Current Economic Affairs" module allows students to apply economic principles to real-world issues, while the "Economics of Business Decision-Making" provides insights into behavioral economics and decision-making within firms. "Introductory Microeconomics" and "Introductory Macroeconomics" lay the groundwork for further economic study by exploring individual decision-making and the broader economic issues that shape society.In Year 2, students will continue to deepen their understanding of economics while tailoring their studies to specific interests, including finance, behavioral economics, and global trade. Key modules such as "Introductory Econometrics" and "Intermediate Microeconomics" equip students with the tools to analyze economic data and make informed predictions. "Intermediate Macroeconomics" further explores macroeconomic concepts like inflation, unemployment, and economic growth. The "ECO Steps" module provides support to enhance academic skills and employability.In the final year, students have the opportunity to specialize further by selecting from a wide range of optional modules such as competition economics, public policy, financial risk management, and environmental economics. Students can choose to write a dissertation or develop a consulting project, applying their knowledge to a real-world context. "ECO Steps" continues to support students’ personal and academic growth throughout the year.
