COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the International Business Management degree at Norwich Business School, students are introduced to the fundamentals of modern business across six core modules. These cover areas such as marketing, finance and accounting, organisational management, data analysis, and the broader business environment. This shared first-year structure not only provides a solid foundation but also allows students the flexibility to switch between related BA programs if they wish. Modules like "Introduction to Accounting and Finance" and "Principles of Marketing" equip students with the essential theoretical and practical knowledge needed to understand core business functions. Meanwhile, "Management and Organisations" and "Understanding the Business Environment" offer insights into how businesses operate within societal, environmental, and global contexts. Students also undertake a practical "Applied Business Project," which encourages them to develop solutions to real-world societal problems through business innovation. In year two, the focus shifts to international business, where students explore global trade, business strategy, and decision-making through core modules such as "International Business" and "Strategic Awareness and Analysis." These are complemented by four optional modules that allow students to tailor their studies toward their interests, including the possibility of language learning. The third year is spent in industry, where students gain hands-on experience in a professional setting, helping them develop vital skills and expand their professional network. In the final year, students return to campus to deepen their knowledge through advanced modules like "Strategic Management" and "Cases in International Business." These modules challenge students to think critically about business strategy and multinational enterprise operations, building on previous learning. With a choice of additional optional modules or a final year project, students can specialise further in areas aligned with their career ambitions. This structured, progressive approach ensures graduates are well-prepared for the global business environment.
