COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA in Business Management at Norwich Business School is designed to provide a flexible, well-rounded education with the option to specialise in human resource management. In Year 1, students are introduced to the fundamentals of business through six compulsory modules that cover key areas such as marketing, accounting, finance, data management, organisational behaviour, and the business environment. An applied business project offers early exposure to independent learning and problem-solving through real-world societal issues. This year lays a strong foundation and supports the option to switch to other business degrees depending on evolving interests. In Year 2, the course begins to focus more on people management while still offering flexibility to explore broader business topics. Year 3 is spent in industry, allowing students to apply classroom learning in a real-world context. This work placement is a valuable opportunity to gain practical skills, develop professional networks, and enhance employability. In the final year, the focus shifts to strategic and international human resource management. Students undertake core modules like Strategic Management and Globalisation and People Management, which explore global business dynamics, cultural diversity, international HR practices, and the strategic challenges of managing people across borders. Throughout the degree, students are given the flexibility to tailor their studies to match their career ambitions, supported by guidance on module selection and career planning. The combination of academic study, practical experience, and global perspectives ensures that graduates leave well-prepared for leadership roles in business, particularly within HR and management functions.
