COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA in Business Management with a Year Abroad is a four-year degree that begins with a broad foundation in business disciplines, allowing flexibility for students to explore and potentially shift their career focus. In Year 1, students study six core modules that cover essential areas like accounting, marketing, data management, the business environment, and organisational management. The applied business project encourages independent learning by asking students to address societal issues through business solutions. This year builds a well-rounded base in business, emphasizing the importance of understanding various disciplines to succeed in management roles. Year 2 dives deeper into specific functions of business management with compulsory modules like Managing People and Strategic Awareness and Analysis. Students also choose optional modules tailored to their interests, whether in marketing, law, ethics, or creativity. This phase is about shaping one’s academic and professional direction, helping students discover their strengths and aspirations. In Year 3, students study abroad at one of the university’s partner institutions, gaining exposure to global business practices and different cultural perspectives. This experience enriches both personal and academic growth and strengthens employability through international learning. The final year, Year 4, focuses on developing strategic thinking through the Strategic Management module. Students also undertake a major independent project, either a dissertation or a work-based study, and have the freedom to choose from a variety of elective modules.
