COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Business Management with Human Resource Management at Norwich Business School is a four-year program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in business while developing a specialist understanding of managing people. In the first year, students study core business disciplines including marketing, accounting, finance, data analysis, business environments, and organisational management. They also complete an applied business project that encourages independent learning and exploration of real-world challenges. This broad introduction allows students to understand various aspects of business and offers the flexibility to change pathways if desired. In the second year, the focus shifts toward human resource management through modules like Managing People, Developing Talent, and Strategic Awareness and Analysis. These modules explore how organisations attract, develop, and retain talent, while also looking at the strategic importance of people management in business success. Students examine the impacts of HR practices on organisational performance and explore global employment trends and challenges. In the third year, students have the opportunity to study abroad at a partner institution. This experience helps develop global awareness and adaptability, and it provides a valuable international perspective on business and HRM. The final year is dedicated to strategic and global aspects of human resource management. Modules such as Strategic Management and Globalisation and People Management enable students to critically analyse global staffing issues, cultural differences, and strategic HR implementation across different business contexts. The course encourages reflective learning, teamwork, and strong communication skills while preparing students for leadership roles in HR, consultancy, or general business management. With its blend of theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and international exposure, the course equips graduates with the essential skills and insights to navigate and lead within modern, people-focused organisations across global markets.
