In your fourth year, you will have the opportunity to focus on more specialized areas of drama and literature. You can choose to participate in a major final-year drama production, which will allow you to apply everything you have learned in a professional performance setting. This practical experience will be invaluable, as you will be involved in the entire process, from rehearsals to the final performance. Alternatively, you can choose from modules that examine themes such as the intersection of identity and performance, experimental theatre, or advanced acting techniques, enabling you to refine your skills and express your creativity in bold new ways. Many students also opt to undertake a dissertation, giving you the chance to explore a subject of your choice in-depth, drawing on the skills and knowledge you have accumulated throughout the course. The dissertation allows for independent research, offering you the freedom to investigate a topic that aligns with your academic and creative interests.In addition to the practical modules, you will select at least one specialist literature module, allowing you to delve deeper into specific literary areas. The selection of modules may include topics like medieval monsters, crime fiction, feminist writing, and more, enabling you to continue developing your critical analysis and literary knowledge.
