ABOUT UNIVERSITY

The University of East Anglia (UEA) is a public research university in Norwich, England, founded in 1963. Its 360-acre campus houses four faculties and 26 schools of study. UEA is part of the Norwich Research Park, known for its research in agriculture, genomics, health, and the environment. The university is home to four independent research institutes and a teaching hospital. It is recognized as one of the most-cited research institutions globally.Attempts to establish a university in Norwich began in 1919 and 1947 but materialized only in 1960. In the 1970s, UEA introduced its influential creative writing program and established a climate research center. The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, designed by Norman Foster, opened in 1978.UEA continued to expand through the 1980s and 1990s, establishing new research centers and launching student media initiatives. In the 2000s, it became a leader in climate change research, overcoming the controversial "Climategate" scandal. The university has since continued its growth in academic excellence, sustainability, and student experience.
