COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc programme is delivered in three progressive stages, enabling students to build advanced knowledge and skills while working towards a full master's qualification. The first stage leads to a Postgraduate Certificate, which is achieved by completing two core modules and one optional module worth a total of 60 credits. Students can then progress to the Postgraduate Diploma by studying an additional two core modules and one optional module, gaining a further 60 credits. To complete the full MSc degree, students undertake the Independent Engineering Scholarship, bringing the total programme to 180 credits. Full-time students typically study 60 credits per semester, allowing them to complete the programme within the standard duration, while part-time students usually study either 20 or 40 credits per semester, providing greater flexibility to balance their studies with work or other personal commitments. This staged structure allows students to develop specialist technical knowledge, practical engineering skills, and research capability progressively, while offering recognised postgraduate qualifications at each stage of the programme.
